Juniors
Hi Everyone,

My last "official" email for season 2009-2010.

What a beautiful day we had once again for the final day's play and end of season picnic/presentation. It's always wonderful to see such a large contingent of club members - past and present - gathered together at Clontarf and I trust you all enjoyed the afternoon.

A big "thank you" to all those that helped on the day with BBQ'ing, collecting bread rolls and returning empty crates, collecting sausages, selling raffle tickets, picking up rubbish etc etc etc.
Special mention to Sheree Nixon for taking the fantastic photos of the presentations which will be available for viewing on our Club website www.collaroyplateaucc.org.au shortly.

I would also like to thank all parents, coaches, managers and of course players for making the 2009-2010 cricket season most enjoyable.

In the wrap-up for the season we have:
12/1 "Surge" finishing as Premiers
16/17 "Flash" and 13/1 "Power" finishing as runners-up
16/17 "Static" and 10/1 "Electrodes"  finishing in 3rd position on their respective tables, along with some very commendable performances from our other teams.

"Surge" received their CPCC Premiers' Caps last Saturday and will be rewarded at the MWJCA presentation night to be held in June, along with individual award winners from the various age groups. Details TBA.

During the presentations I missed mentioning some special achievements this season in the form of Century Scorers. These are usually few and far between in Junior cricket due to limited overs and retirement rules but this season was an exception!

Congratulations to:
Aaron Stevens 12/1 "Force" 102* vs CPCC "Surge" Round 1
Nick Hidas 12/1 "Surge" 101* vs Harbord Round 6; 100* vs Peninsula Round 9
Arshdeep Virdi  16/17 "Flash" 114 vs Peninsula Round 1; 102 vs Forest Round 3 and 100* against Beacon Hill Round 6
Steven King 16/17 "Flash" 113 against Forest Round 3
and Cody Bruce 16/17 "Static" an amazing 150*  vs Cromer Round 3 which I believe is a new MWJCA record.
I will be arranging "Century medallions" to be presented to these players.

As mentioned at the presentation day several of our 16/17's players along with some of our coaches, committee members and previous CPCC Juniors were playing out the MWCA 7th Grade Grand Final at David Thomas Reserve on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
The big news is that they won!
A huge congratulations to Mitch Curran (16/17's "Static" and Coach U9's Megawatts), Sam Cheeseman (16/17's "Static"), Matt Terry (15's), Nick Bonner (16/17's "Flash"), Dom Wheeler ( 16/17's 2008-09 and Coach 10/2 "Neutrons"), Jeff Porter-Dening (16/17's 2008-09), Angus Mackenzie (16/17's 2008-09), John "Jacko" Jackson (Coach U15's and Club Vice Pres.), Toby Horstead (Club Treasurer) and their other team mates.

Throughout the season we ran a few sausage sizzles to raise money for the McGrath Foundation. Thankyou to all of those that supported these events - especially our Friday evening "In2Cricket" group. As a result we will be sending a cheque for $500 to the McGrath Foundation from CPCC.

Approx $300 was raised from Saturday's raffle which will go into the CPCC coffers.
Congratulations to all prize winners!
Funds from raffles and REBEL MVP credits are greatly appreciated by the Club and go a long way to help finance the purchasing of new kits and gear etc for our Club members. Your support in these ventures is always appreciated.

LOST and FOUND:    I have in my possession 1 "Sea-Eagles" beach towel  and 2 pairs of thongs ( 1 x Billabong, 1 x Navy Blue) that were left behind at Clontarf last Saturday.
Please contact me if any of these items sound familiar to you to arrange their return.

Information regarding next season will be emailed around the end of July so please make sure you notify me if your contact details change in the meantime.

I will also forward any information regarding coaching clinics etc that may come up during the off season.

I hope you all enjoy your winter sports and look forward to seeing you all again next Summer.

regards
Vicki
