’BE THE BALL’ - Handicapper takes out Golf Day
In what’s certain to add another controversial chapter to the Golf Day history books, 2nd Grade skipper Brenden Ball (13 hcp) has claimed his second CPCC Golf Day championship. Whilst the rest of the field of 18 were getting giddy doing laps of the 9 hole Balgowlah course, the event’s handicapper handled the wet conditions on his home course to win the prestigious title on 38 Stableford points from GB (23) with 37pts. Brenden picked up the double by taking out the scratch title whilst Anita Hobdell defended her Ladies Championship. Golf Day rookie Tom Carden bumped Dave Quarford out of the ‘Bradman’ award but did manage to pick up a nearest the pin.
